Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University in 1993. She went on to study law at University of New Brunswick, where she received her LLB in 1997. She joined the Family Centre for Conflict Resolution at Mac, Mac & Mac from the Colchester area, where she has practiced family and children's law for the last decade. While Karen maintains her ties to the Colchester area, she looks forward to increasing her reach to Nova Scotia families through her work with other lawyers and inter-disciplinary professionals at the Family Centre.
